Greetings, Knights and Ladies.  This summer of 2000 we will be commemorating our 35th anniversary of graduation from dear ol' Southeast High School.  We would like to cordially invite each and every one of you to join us in celebration at the high school reunion of the great class of 1965.

Because of the success of our last reunion in 1995, and by popular demand, we will continue with the format of a special Saturday night party extravaganza full of friendship, entertainment, dining, dancing and revelry.  Our theme is a "sock hop" so come comfortable and casual: jeans and shorts are appropriate.

The reunion will be held Saturday evening, June 24, 5 p.m. to midnight, at the Shawnee Civic Center, 13817 Johnson Drive (three miles west of I-35; map enclosed).  There will be a full buffet dinner, entertainment and dancing to the sounds of the 60's.  An adult-only affair, coat and tie are NOT required.

Total cost is only $30 per person or $50 per couple.  Please make check or money order payable to "Southeast Class of 1965' and mail with order form to Jim Thomas, c/o Western national Bank, 95th & Lackman, P.O. Box 14608, Lenexa, KS 66285-4608.  Payment must be received by May 15, 2000.  Sorry, no refunds after June 1.  Your canceled check will be your only receipt.

Bring an appetite.  A complete buffet dinner will be catered by one of our area's famous barbeque restaurants, including ham, beef, turkey, cole slaw, potato salad and baked beans.  We will provide setups and soft drinks.  Happy hour 5-7, dinner will be served buffet-style from 7-9, dancing from 8-midnight.

Music and entertainment will be provided by Jim "Magicman" Scammahorn (Jimmy "California", Southeast class of 1966), a popular entertainer and disc jockey who will perform from 8-midnight.

Another service that night will be a class reunion color photograph by Lightfoot Photography.  The photograph will be taken promptly at 6:30 p.m.  Shot as a speculative venture; no advanced payment is required.  And as a special feature, Lightfoot has agreed to return with the 10x12 color photographs THAT SAME NIGHT and sell them for only $10 each (cash or check).  So stick an extra sawbuck in your sock and take home all those mugs you hold near and dear.

We have been contacted by other Southeast students asking to attend our reunion.  We have decided to open the party to all members of the 1964 and 1966 classes, since we have so many common friends in these years.  We will be advertising this in the media, and are including them in this mailing.  If you know of members from these classes who would like to attend, have them contact me: Gordon Havens, 17311 E. 40 Hwy. Lot-I-35, Indep., MO 64055. (816)478-6873.  And look forward to some new faces in the crowd.

Please send your check or money order promptly.  Keep this information sheet as we will not contact you again.  If you are unable to attend this reunion, please still keep your address current so we will have you entered into our computer files for the 40th reunion year 2005 invitation.  Thank you.  H.G.H.
